Grief Support Circle

The Grief Support Circle is facilitated by Tracey Smith, a trained Seasons for Growth Companion, experienced grief educator and End-of-Life Doula. Having supported adults through grief and loss for many years, Tracey’s compassionate approach led to her being encouraged to complete Seasons for Growth Companion training, further deepening her evidence-informed understanding of grief. She combines professional knowledge with genuine warmth to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel seen, heard and supported—without judgement or expectation.

You Don’t Have to Walk Through Grief Alone

Grief touches every one of us differently. Whether you’ve experienced the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a significant life change, or another form of loss, the journey can often feel overwhelming and isolating.

The Grief Support Circle offers a gentle, compassionate space where you can simply be. There is no expectation to share, no timeline for healing, and no right or wrong way to grieve. You are welcome exactly as you are.

Together, we create a supportive community where people can connect with others who truly understand, honour their experiences, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.

What to Expect

Each monthly gathering provides a safe and nurturing environment that may include:
  •  Gentle conversation and peer support
  •  Practical education and tools to better understand grief
  • Guided reflection and mindfulness practices
  • Opportunities to share (only if you feel comfortable)
  •  Simple strategies to support emotional wellbeing between sessions
The focus is not on "fixing" grief, but on learning to carry it with greater understanding, self-compassion and support.

Why Join?

Many people find that connecting with others who have experienced loss helps to:
  • Feel less isolated and alone
  • Better understand the grieving process
  • Build emotional resilience
  • Learn healthy coping strategies
  • Honour the memory of loved ones
  • Develop supportive connections within the community
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means learning to move forward while carrying love, memories and hope.

A Safe, Compassionate Space

The Grief Support Circle is facilitated in a small, welcoming group setting where everyone is treated with kindness, respect and confidentiality. Whether you choose to speak or simply listen, you are welcome.

Grief is deeply personal, and everyone experiences it differently. Our circle honours each person’s unique journey.

When & Where

The Grief Support Circle is held monthly at the Philip Street Communities & Families Precinct, Gladstone.

Attendance is flexible, and both registered participants and drop-ins are welcome.
